Reports to: Marketing and Development Manager
Hours: Core business hours are from 8am-4:30pm. Occasional early morning, evening and weekend hours for meetings and events is required.
General Description
SUMMARY
The Marketing Specialist will be responsible for providing marketing and event planning support to the marketing and development departments and other departments as needed. This position will have a wide variety of duties such as, social media posts and the creation and updating of marketing materials. The Marketing Specialist will be responsible for managing assigned tasks, to effectively meet strategic goals.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
Work is performed primarily in an office setting and in larger inside or outdoor venues for work related events..
General Duties
- Updates and runs all assigned reports and completes additional duties associated with these reports.
- Updates contacts to ensure up to date contact information is maintained for our referral sources and other key accounts.
- Creates and updates a variety of marketing materials such as flyers, brochures, power points, educational material, and social media posts.
- Implement the management of the Hospice Alliance website and electronic marketing materials.
- Implement digital media ads, social media posts, Facebook Donations, website maintenance/updates and is point of contact for vendors and compliance considerations; continually developing content for media ads and posts; Hospice Analytics.
- Collaborates with the volunteer manager to request volunteer assistance with administrative tasks such as, assembly of consult folders and the staffing of community outreach events etc.
- Maintains the educational materials relating to education/speaker requests. This includes, updating and creating PowerPoints, updating, and recorded keeping of presentation evaluations and attendance records.
- Under the direction of the Marketing and Development manager, manages event planning assignments and collaborates with others to ensure all assignments and assigned events are successfully executed.
- Attendance at all marketing/development events/fundraisers is required, unless otherwise directed by Manager.
- Assists manager with upkeep of donor records as directed
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related field.
- Prior experience planning small events and supporting larger events.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Good working knowledge of the various social media platforms.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of team.
Microsoft Suite/365
- Outlook – Intermediated skill level (emails, calendar (multiple users), tasks, Teams Meetings).
- Word – Intermediate skill level (including tables, mail merge, pagination, templates, image placement).
- Excel – Intermediate skill level (basic formulas, pivot tables, workbook/worksheet management). Ability to ready and analyze data to create and distribute information.
- PowerPoint – Intermediate skill level (creation, image addition, link addition, template manipulation).
- Teams – Upload/download documents, create/maintain channels, meeting management.
- Publisher
Adobe Creative Suite
- Illustrator – Beginner to intermediate skill level – Create, update, package files for production or conversion.
- Photoshop – Beginner skill level – Create, update files for FB posts and additional image for other programs.
- InDesign – Beginner – Create, update and package files for production or conversion.
HTML
- Basic understanding to update website/intranet information and higher level JotForm creation.
File Management
- Ability to create pdf, jpg, png files as needed for a variety of applications. Save/create files in appropriate resolution depending on application.
- Work with files from a variety of applications sent from vendors (e.g., Adobe).
Proofreading
- Good grasp of professional grammar usage (capitalization, proper punctuation, word usage, abbreviations, etc.).
- Style guide familiarity (consistent style usage though out project).
- Research ability for fact checking.
Abila
- Experience with this software is desired but the ability to become proficient with the program to complete duties specific to Abila is required.
